RANKS

GM - The head honcho. Responsibilities include the appointment of other officers, the creation and maintenance of guild rules and policies, and the final word on matters which cannot be solved by lower ranking officers.

Executive Officers - Assist the GM with general administrative duties necessary for the functioning of the guild.

Raid Officers - The job of a Raid Officer is essentially to assemble, organize, and lead a squad of raiding members. General responsibilities include determining recruitment needs and monitoring performance of players for which they are responsible for. Raid officers work together to coordinate the efforts of all raid members. Raid officers are responsible for accepting and demoting players to/from the raiding ranks as necessary. Raid officers may also select exceptional players for promotion to the Senior Raider rank. Four raid officers will be appointed as follows:

      1) Tank Lead - This officer is in charge of all raiding members who fulfill a tanking role as their PRIMARY spec. The Tank Lead is responsible for setting up tanking assignments for each raid encounter. The Tank Lead is expected to have a general knowledge of the strengths and weakness of the various tanking classes and specs so that tanking responsibilities may be assigned in an appropriate manner on a per-encounter basis.

      2) Healer Lead - This officer is in charge of all raiding members who fulfill a healing role as their PRIMARY spec. The Healer Lead is responsible for setting up healing assignments for each raid encounter. The Healer Lead is expected to have a general knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of the various healing classes and specs so that healing responsibilities may be assigned in an appropriate manner on a per-encounter basis.

      3) Melee DPS Lead - This officer is in charge of all raiding members who fulfill a Melee DPS role as their PRIMARY spec. The Melee Lead is responsible for coordinating the efforts of all melee DPS members for each raid encounter. The Melee Lead is expected to have a general knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of the various melee DPS classes and specs.

      4) Ranged DPS Lead - This officer is in charge of all raiding members who fulfill a Ranged DPS role as their PRIMARY spec. The Ranged Lead is responsible for coordinating the efforts of all ranged DPS members for each raid encounter. The Ranged Lead is expected to have a general knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of the various ranged DPS classes and specs.

    Raiding Ranks

      1) Raider - This rank is the meat and potatoes of the raiding effort. Members of the Raider rank exhibit the commitment and self motivation required to move the guild forward as we experience increasingly greater challenges and content.

      2) Senior Raider - This is a special rank bestowed by the Raid Leads to exemplary members of the Raider Rank who go above and beyond the call of duty. These members exhibit a mastery of their class and set a shining example for other players in terms of performance and commitment. Functionally, it is no more than a title, however with it comes a great amount of admiration and respect from the other members of the guild. In the event that a raid lead is absent from a raid, Senior Raiders may be called upon to step up and assist with coordination for their group.

    Social Ranks

      1) Friend - This rank is for friends and family of the guild. Friends of RoL do not need to fill out an application for admittance, however they must be sponsored by another member of the guild. Friends are not subject to the raiding requirements and expectations of other members, and can play they game when and how they choose. The only expectation for a friend is that they conduct themselves in a manner which does not harm the reputation and good name of the guild.

      2) Emeritus - This rank is for long-time members, usually former raiders, who are recognized for their previous contributions but are no longer willing or able to commit to the guild's raiding effort. They operate under the same pretense as the Friend rank above.

Initiates - This rank is for new recruits applying for a spot on the raid roster.
